Tamma is also the Director of the Climate & Energy program at the Environmental Markets Lab at UC Santa Barbara, an affiliate of the Climate Impact Lab, an affiliate of the Center for Effective Global Action, a standing committee member of the National Academies of Sciences Environmental Health Matters Initiative, a Beijer Young Scholar, and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Tamma's research combines economics with datasets and methodologies from remote sensing, data science, and climate science to quantify how environmental change and economic development shape one another. Her current work focuses on climate change, water scarcity, and the use of remote sensing for global-scale environmental and socioeconomic monitoring.
Aaron's research addresses economic and policy challenges related to agriculture, energy, and the environment. He has over 50 publications in refereed journals, including outlets such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Econometrics, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. His research has won the Quality of Communication, Quality of Research Discovery, and Outstanding American Journal of Agricultural Economics Article Awards from the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and the Quality of Research Discovery Award from the European Association of Agricultural Economists.
