RCNR Dean David Ackerly had these words to share regarding Jeremy's Chair appointment:
Jeremy is an outstanding scholar and teacher who cares deeply about the Department and its students. He is an applied development economist whose work primarily addresses agricultural and labor markets in developing countries, often emphasizing equity and inclusion issues. He is among the very best individuals in his field. He is appreciated and respected for his empathy, listening skills, and supportive and profound comments that help graduate students see their research in a new light, and he is sought out as a mentor by many of the Department’s graduate students.
Jeremy brings a record of service to his Department, the College, and campus in his new role as Department Chair. He has served as the Vice Chair of the Department, has twice chaired departmental faculty search committees, and has served on the Department’s graduate admission committee. For the College, Jeremy has served on the RCNR Student-Faculty Relations Committee and he is a member of the RCNR Strategic Plan Committee. At the campus level, Jeremy has served as a member of the Council for Protection of Human Subjects and on the committee for the Campus Signature Initiative on Inequality.
Congratulations Jeremy!
