Combining theoretical and empirical methods, Ellen's current work addresses critical issues in agricultural groundwater management. Much of her research relates to the changing regulatory structure of groundwater in California. In general, Ellen is interested in policy-relevant economic questions related to the management of natural resources and to issues at the intersection of agricultural and natural-resource economics.
