The Sara Johns Environmental, Energy, and Resource Economics research seminar provides PhD students an opportunity to present work in progress and get constructive feedback from other students and faculty. As of this fall, the seminar is named after a beloved community member, Sara Johns, who we lost last September. Sara was a brilliant graduate student who enjoyed talking about research and offering her thoughtful feedback. This seminar provides an opportunity to honor her memory. To mark the inaugural Sara Johns seminar of the year last Friday, ARE went on a group hike in the afternoon on some of Sara's favorite trails in the Berkeley hills. Thank you to Sara's mom, Janet, who provided pizza afterwards.
