Congratulations to Professor Shaoda Wang! The Sloan Research Fellows of 2026 include 126 early-career scholars that represent the most promising scientific researchers working today. Their achievements and potential place them among the next generation of scientific leaders in the U.S. and Canada.
Shaoda graduated from ARE in 2019 and was advised by Betty Sadoulet, Alain de Janvry, Jeremy Magruder, and Reed Walker. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy. In receiving this award, he said "I am honored and humbled to receive the Sloan Research Fellowship. I am grateful to the many mentors, colleagues, collaborators, and students whose partnership and support have shaped my work. In particular, this would not have been possible without the uniquely nurturing and intellectually vibrant environment at Berkeley ARE." Betty would have been very proud.
