Seminar: Environmental Economics and Policy 39
- The class introduces
the use of economics to solve problems of agriculture, development
and the environment.
- The class features
faculty and students from Agriculture and Resource Economics that
provide overview of their research areas.
- Presentations
address both methodological approaches as well as important policy
issues.
Some
of the issues covered in the course include:
- The use of game
theory to understand strategic choices in industry
- Alternative
solutions to climate change problems
- The economics
of water in California o What is sustainable development?
- Contingent evaluation
o Assessment of value of the environment
- Future of agricultural
policy
- Globalization
and its en and econ implications

paper covering one of the issues introduced in the class.
