In other instances, water is periodically brought down the rows to the workers on tractors.  However, this method has a few important limitations.  First, it requires devoting one worker to driving the tractor. Second, if the workers are spread out, they may have to wait extended periods of time for the tractor to pass by.  Finally, the workers are essentially put on a drinking schedule that is indipendent of their physiological needs.
