- Major Field courses (Agricultural Policy, Development or
Resources and Environment)
- Minor Field courses (chosen in consultation with your advisor)
- The Empirical Project
- An original empirical essay written with considerable
faculty guidance
- Departmental Exams
- Preliminary Exam (examines first year theory)
- Field Exam (on your major field)
- Oral Exam (on your thesis prospectus and readiness to
write a dissertation.)
- The Research Essay
- Your thesis prospectus (a paper outlining what will be in
part of your thesis.)
