Information For The Final

1. The exam is on Tuesday May 20th, 2003 from 8-11:00 AM.  Location:A1 HEARST ANNEX

2. GSIs will hold question and answer session on Wednesday, 14 May, 2003, 1-3 pm in their offices.

3. The exam is cummulative but emphasis will be on the second half of the course. The following outline of topics for the final might be useful in studying.

4. The final will be very similar to the midterm, consisting of 3 questions, each of which will have an essay and quantitative part. All the material as listed on the detailed text site is possible exam material.

4. No graphing calculators will be allowed - this rule will be enforced. You shouldn't really need a calculator, but feel free to bring a simple calculator if you'd like.

5. The optional papers are due at the beginning of the exam (8:00).

Grading information:

The final grades for the class will be curved (the mean is B+). The average grades for Spring 2003 problem sets and midterm as of 05/15/03 are here.

Option 1 -- No paper.

50% final, 30% Midterm, 20% Homeworks

Option 2 -- 33.3% Paper, 66.6% Grade of option 1
