The SIEPR-Giannini Data Center was created as a joint project between Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley archiving and documenting existing data sets. It aims at connecting existing projects, providing commonly used resources, and making data more easily accessible for future projects and paper replications per journal requests. Funding for this project was provided by the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and currently by the Giannini Foundation. Data access is available to a number of universities, including California State University-Sacramento, Northwestern University, Princeton University the entire UC system, and Washington State University.

Due to data use restrictions under this agreement, access to parts of this site (denoted by * or **) is password restricted to reseachers affiliated with these universities. The password is reset frenquently.
