26 aliens held in raid plead guilty, to be deported
by Laura Kellams

FAYETTEVILLE -- Most of the illegal immigrants arrested in Friday's poultry-plant raid in Fort Smith will start the journey back to Mexico today after almost immediately pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges.

Twenty-six former workers of Twin Rivers Group Inc., a small poultry company based in Fayetteville, admitted during their arraignments Monday that they used false documents to get jobs at one of the company's Fort Smith plants. At the hearing in U.S. District Court in Fayetteville, all but two of them also pleaded guilty to illegally entering the United States during the past two years.
