While reviewing Cal/OSHA's Field Sanitation Standard (Safety Order 3457), I noticed Section 3457(c)(4)(D) says employers shall inform each employee of the importance to "wash hands both before AND AFTER using the toilet" (my emphasis). I recall in last week's WPS fieldworker train-the-trainer class, a farm labor contractor pointed out to me (privately) that the U.S. EPA-approved video we were watching (and now I see, the EPA-approved flip chart we used) only says "wash your hands before using the toilet." I wish I'd said California's Department of Pesticide Regulation "has that base covered," so to speak, in that compliance with Safety Order 3457 "shall be considered adequate for the purpose of this (field decontamination facilities) section."
