Established in 1981, the Agricultural Economics Reference Organization (AERO) is a the national professional association for librarians & information professionals working in agricultural, applied and environmental economics. The interdisciplinary nature of the literature and variety of topics in these fields poses unique challenges to librarians assisting researchers in these areas.

Mission

AERO's mission is to provide a means of sharing information among its members on information sources, techniques or projects which support research in applied, agricultural, or environmental economics, through biannual conferences, collaborative projects and a listserv.

Membership

Members are currently from university and government libraries throughout the United States and Canada. AERO welcomes new members and there are no dues. Click on the members link in the sidebar for more information. Membership is open to librarians and information professionals supporting research in applied, agricultural and environmental economics in government, education and industry.

Conferences

AERO holds a national conference every two years at a member's home campus or library. Our last conference which was held Sept 24-26, 2009 at the University of Minnesota, for minutes of this conferences and others, please go to CONFERENCES (see sidebars). We are in the planning stage of our next conferernce to be held in October 2012 at Mississippi State.

Listserv
