Excel Regression Add-In

This add-in provides a customized OLS Regression tool for Microsoft Excel users.

System Requirements: Microsoft Excel 97 or later version, Windows or Macintosh

To install the add-in:

   1. Save StockWatsonReg.zip to a file on your local hard drive. If your browser does not download the file automatically, right-click on the link and select to save the link or target to your hard drive.
   2. Unzip the archive and retrieve file StockWatsonReg.xla. If you need software for unzipping files, try the free StuffIt Expander.
   3. Start Excel
   4. Select Tools > Add-Ins
   5. Click the Browse or Select button, find the StockWatsonReg.xla file, and click OK
   6. Confirm that "OLS/Robust Regression" has been placed in the list, and that it has been checked on 

Tip: The Add-In may need to be placed in the usual Add-In directory, so that it will continue to be available in future Excel sessions. Consult your documentation or system administrator to find the appropriate location for .xla files.

To run add-in:

   1. Select data range, with column headings (blank rows are permitted)
   2. Select Tools > OLS Regression 

Tip: OLS Regression will remember your selected data range. You do not need to reselect the range each time.
