There is a growing awareness of the role that natural resources such
as water, land, forests and environmental amenities play in our lives.
There are many competing uses for natural resources, and society is challenged
to manage them for improving social well being. Furthermore, there
may be dire consequences to natural resource mismanagement. Renewable
resources are linked, and decisions made with regard to one may affect
the others. Policy and management of natural resources now require
interdisciplinary cooperation between natural and social sciences.
But existing literature has focused on narrow aspects of resource management
and has not provided sufficient outlets for a comprehensive presentation
of resource management and has not provided sufficient outlets for a comprehensive
presentation of resource management and has not provided sufficient outlets
for a comprehensive presentation of resource management issues and choices.
Natural Resource Management and Policy aims to fill that gap.
The series will consist of authored volumes, edited volumes and texts
aimed at students and scholars in economics and environmental and resource
management, agricultural economics, forestry, engineering and other disciplines.
The series will also be geared to policy makers at municipal, national
and international agencies, and will have an international focus to address
the interests of developed and developing countries alike.
